Only a veteran team of experienced interface designers, information architects and developers can confidently bring complex web design and development projects through to completion. Graphics.net is that team.
Discovery
To kick-off a project, the Graphics.net team leaders will consult with our clients to determine all of their goals, needs and desires for the new project. We use this time to collect and digest information about our clients business, products, current marketing strategy and future ambition. We cover everything from the big picture down to everything in the weeds: from competition analysis to audience profiling to color theory. During this process, the Graphics.net staff and our clients begin to gel into a single team, focused squarely on achieving the project’s goals.
This phase also helps us refine the scope, cost and time line of your project, so we can provide the most accurate estimates. Mostly, it provides everyone a map of the trail we are going to blaze and gives us a chance for an equipment check. Black ninja pajamas, check. Personal burial money, check. Sharp katana, check.
Information Architecture
Our information architecture process is user-centric. We start by defining the tasks users will come to the site for, and ultimately the goal they’re trying to accomplish. We frame this information in the context of their capabilities and the role our client wants to play in the experience. Graphics.net develops a list of content and navigational elements, then groups things together logically and establishes an organizational wireframe from that. This wireframe is the visual structure that is handed over to the designers.
Design
Once the visual structure is set in place, it’s time to design the user experience. One of the first things people will do is form a conscious or unconscious opinion about the value of your service or products based on the quality of your design. In many cases, this may be the first—and last—opportunity you have to make a good impression. Graphics.net draws upon our Jedi master talents to make sure every detail and every concept is executed with expert skill so that your design prompts action and results.
XHTML/CSS
A quality design is virtually useless without well executed XHTML templates and stylesheets (CSS) to support it. Graphics.net’s experienced team of developers routinely build and deploy superior cutting-edge websites drawing from our arsenal of time tested “Best Practice” methodologies, which include usability, compatibility and search engine optimization.
Content Management
After the site launch, it is important to our clients to be able maintain the content on their sites quickly and efficiently. Fresh press, blogs and product updates give customers a reason to keep coming back.
When our clients need a content management solution, Graphics.net often chooses to install WordPress. This publishing platform focuses on aesthetics, web standards and usability, allowing Graphics.net the flexibility to design the best possible user experience.
Did we mention WordPress is free? WordPress is developed by the Open Source community and has no associated license fees. We like free stuff too, especially when it’s this good.
