Alberta Junior Hockey League

Client

The Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) has been encouraging and developing young athletes since 1963. They have sixteen member teams across Alberta and are the lead developmental League in Canada. The AJHL provides its athletes with the best available opportunities for future development and growth while assisting and supporting its players in their academic, athletic and personal lives as they strive towards individual goals.

Challenge

The AJHL works hard to unite their teams and student-athletes to their fans with daily information updates, statistics, team news and exclusive content through their website. The AJHL required a specific, updated website redesign utilizing a content management system to maintain fresh content and provide easier access to the stories, news and uploaded images; they also required third party integration for the League data, stats and highlights. The AJHL management looked to Graphics.net for the best integration and web design solutions.

Solution

Taking into account the management’s specific requirements, Graphics.net developed the main AJHL website and seamlessly integrated third party League statistics and scheduling, which are provided by a different server. Graphics.net developed a dynamic XML Flash newsreader allowing the AJHL to use their customized WordPress content management system to carry detailed information and updated news stories without having to incur the expense of hiring a developer to modify the flash files.

Results

Graphics.net designed and developed a contemporary, edgy and energetic website targeted to the AJHL’s audience of junior hockey players and fans while improving the user’s time on their website. The AJHL can boast about the accomplishments of their teams and players through these featured enhancements thanks to the innovative Graphics.net’s team.
